Artists can be discovered by submitting an original song during the Contest Submission phase. As they progress through judging and public voting, they gain exposure and recognition. Along the way, artists may perform live at events and have their work featured through partner channels, helping to expand their audience, build industry connections, and create momentum for their music career.

Artists will ALWAYS retain full ownership of their music and they are free to release, sell, or use their music however they want, anytime.

Samsung and Collective Rights are simply looking for the usage rights to be able to promote and amplify your music across different channels for a period of two (2) years.

Yes, we are not limiting artists in any way. Artists are free to use their music how they please.

Samsung and Collective Arts may cut down submitted music for promotional purposes in adverts and social media posts promoting the Samsung True North Tunes program or the artist themselves. All edits and cut downs will be presented to the artist for review and approval.

Yes, Samsung will ask artists for their permission and approval for each use of their music.

IMPORTANT GRANT OF RIGHTS - By entering the Contest each eligible participant (on their own behalf and if applicable, on behalf of all members of the Band) grant to Samsung and all other Contest Entities (and any other party authorized by the Contest Parties), the limited, fully paid up, royalty free, Canadian rights, license and permission, for a period of two (2) years to reproduce, copy, publish, broadcast, disseminate, display, and cut down for promotional material, make available, synchronize with other content and materials, communicate to the public, on all media, and otherwise use, all content and material created, provided, submitted or furnished by the participant (and if applicable, a Representative and/or member of the Band) in connection with this Contest, including, without limitation, each participant’s Submission, Music Performance and Live Performance Video (collectively, the “Contest Materials”). For clarification, ownerships rights to the Music Performance and Live Performance will belong solely to the Participant.
